I’ve got Compton custom bridges on a Guild Starfire and Gretsch 5420t.

Amazing bell-like tones, even unplugged. Great string stability performance and intonation.

Consider a couple of IG solid body models. Wondered if anyone has experience with Comptons on a LP or bird?

Cheers!

Thank you for the post. Really glad you brought it up.

I have a Gretsch G2420T with a Bigsby and the stock tune-o-matic bridge

While fairly happy with the guitar, not at all happy with the stock bridge. I'm not a huge string bender playing leads, but three times gigging the high E comes off the saddle while playing leads.

I could file the saddle deeper, but in addition to the string slippage, a noticeable volume loss on the high E in relation to the B & G strings. Very close to getting a Compton bridge.

On your green Guild, is that a Compton bridge as well?

I love Compton's , got five of them. I had one on my DeArmond Jetstar spell ( SG like)and it worked great, I stole it off there for another guitar so I need to order some more. I have them on my Airline, Harmony H50, United/Orpheum, Gretsch 5120 and another that I can't remember.
