Epiphone Bass Shadow Nano MAG pickup

Got this bass, no serial number or really good information. "Nanoflex electronics. Has the weird pickup, and it makes a weird wicked buzz on the 12th fret g string. I kinda think pick up, after reworking the frets.

Thought I would ask if anyone had any input or experience, maybe a good pickup swap ? (Shadow Nano Mag)

A nano replacement is 39 dollars online I haven't seen any good comments on these. Anybody have any experience with them?

It is a Zenith / Triumpf Bass, didn't know they made it further than prototype



The electronics were from shadow (IIRC)

What may be causing the e string to be heard fretting ? It's not a buzz but even fretting a note makes you hear metal on metal. I can post an example of you need one
