Hi,
I own two guitars:
Squier J Mascis Jazzmaster (modded with Fender tremolo plate, StayTrem arm & bridge)
Epiphone Les Paul Classic Plus VS (modded by the previous owner with Gibson Classic 57' in bridge, Gibson BurstBucker in neck, replaced hardware etc.)
Anyway, I want another one. At first I was sure it would be MIM Fender strat, but then I saw Sherry PRO in wine red.. Let me tell you, I'm a big fan of Bernard Butler and his cherry red ES-355 is my wet dream Epiphone doesn't make ES-355 anymore, so Sherry is a very nice cosmetic alternative, though the color is darker. I know there's Epi 335 PRO, but Sherry looks better to my eyes and it's equipped with the ProBuckers.
I live in Czechia (Czech Republic) and the music stores don't have more than one piece in stock. Boo! I wanted to try more of them and choose the best one. There's Thomann in Germany, but it's quite far from the borders and I don't have a car. Do you think it's good to order one without playing it? I was lucky with my Squier Jazzmaster.. Thomann has a good return policy, so if there's a problem, no big deal.
What should I be aware of? I read the fretwork is so-so. Anything else?
Is it a good choice? I'm open minded, don't be afraid to change my mind!
