So I'm watching an eBay auction on a Vintage Sunburst Casino with a hard case. About $750 new. I didn't get into the bidding as in that past 2 months I've acquired one used and two new axes. (Squier Affinity used,$40, Squier Vintage Modified $230 and a LP Special 1 P90 $129) My wife has been great with all this by the way. The dang thing sold for $260 bucks. I'm a huge Beatles fan and I've drooled over a Casino since I got back into guitars and playing a couple years ago. Lesson learned. We now have an agreement that if (when) I find another, I'm going to bid.

On the flip side, I was approaching it with a bit of caution as there were only 2 pictures, very little description and the seller had 0 other sales.

You can always make the highest bid you would pay on an item and walk away, the walking away part is the toughest and doesn't always work but you just never know.
Your Squire vintage modified, a Tele?

You win some, you lose some.

I was looking for a VM Tele a couple of years ago, but they were relatively hard to come by on the used market. I set up an eBay alert and when one showed up that was in my price range, I jumped on it. If you know what you want, how much you're willing to spend, and you have patience, the alerts help.

You know, I saw this on eBay, a couple of weeks ago, and almost pulled the trigger. It was all I could do, not to. I kept telling myself, "ya, it's probably a screw job", but I also tried to sell it as like buying a raffle ticket. Low odds of winning, 5% chance it's legit, but if it was........ what a score. $49? Free shipping? Makes no sense. I keep thinking that I'll message the winner and see what it really was.

I can't see this anymore. I know on my FB feed I'll see name brand guitars for insane prices and I know it's a scam. Like Gibsons for $129 that are normally $3000. I emailed FB about it and they replied back that they looked into it and it didn't violate any of their policies. Really makes you wonder.

One of a myriad of reasons I refuse to have anything to do with them.

I just hate it when I get sniped by 50¢
Back when I used eBay more, I never bid even amounts, always odd numbers with change above 50 cents, instead of $50 I'd bid $51.83. Seems like there were fewer losses that way.
