Ooops, went to a guitar show today with 4 guitars to get rid of and came home with 2 more....my wife hates me I think....

1st is a Sigma 000M 15L (left handed):

Top: Solid Mahogany
Back & Sides: Mahogany
Neck: Mahogany
Nut: Bone
Saddle: Bone/Compensated
Fingerboard: Indian Rosewood
Scale Length: 25.4"
Width at Nut: 1-11/16"
Tuning Machines: Chrome, Grover Diecast.

Ridiculously it cost me £60, needs a little tlc and some new strings, which were thrown in....unbelievable really.

2nd is a 'KD 28 - Made in Italy' acoustic which apparently were made by Melody/EKO in the 70's.

Bolt on neck.
Adjustable Bridge.
Zero Fret
3 Piece Neck.

Will add more for reference when I get more details but for the £20 it cost....it's a bit silly what you can buy for very little if you shop around, don't think I'll ever buy new again.

Needs some TLC but it sounds lovely as is and perfect for late night playing as the volume is lower than my goto (Tanglewood), not even cleaned it yet and about a month behind with guitar stuff but think this might jump the queue so I can play it some more.

Now I've had chance to look at this properly I do have to decide how much time/money I want to spend/do on it, it's very well made but was going to just clean it and set it up but think it deserves more love.

:)

HNGD Alty, great you found a lefty.
Waiting for the pics:yesway:

I know, sometimes it's best to wait and keep the GAS under reigns as I nearly bought a new one earlier in the year as I was looking for a Mahogany top lefty with open headstock and new was looking at £300-£450 for what I wanted....I even considered having the RH Mahogany Alvarez converted and possibly spoiling a good guitar, glad I didn't now....only Sigma and Tanglewood do one in the UK, and this is 'almost' there....think I was lucky with the Sigma. :)

So you got two nice guitars, for less than the price of one (new):applause:How can the wife complain about that:hmm:
The fretboard on the Sigma looks like someone threw up on it:rofl:, you'll have your hands full there.
Other than that, it looks like a fine fiddle
The KD 28 looks like it might be worth a little extra effort. Is that separation at the heel, or a poor fill job.
It looks like it might have had some fill in that area, not a big deal, probably just a touch of wood shrinkage.
Nice score!

I think the Sigma has just been badly neglected and not cleaned in a while, going to take the PG off as although Abalone it is thin and looks cheap, if the colour is too way off underneath might put a new one on.

The KD does have a shim in the neck but also a big gap, check the action out, good for practising the Limbo....;)

The fingerboard is an amazing colour and think it's unstained Rosewood, the frets are in good condition and as you say, it deserves some extra love....

From the look of that action, you could probably remove the shim.
I just looked at the heel pic, aside from the shim, it almost looks as if the screws that attach the neck are in line with the seams of the 3pcs.
That might account for separation, if someone replaced the screws at some point.

I'm going to take some more pics tomorrow....the heel goes almost to the end of the neck and the block (Laminated) goes to the 1st ring, no wonder it's so heavy and will add more pics when it's apart.

:shock:Looks like they used a big enough block.
I got it backwards yesterday:facepalm:, looks like you might need to ADD shims to get a decent action.
Looking forward to the detailed pics.
