Hi all!

New here and new to Epiphones so I'm hoping you can help me out.

I got a fairly solid deal on this used 1991 MIK Casino from a store which doesn't specialize in instruments. I found out later that it was a factory second from the used stamp on the headstock and (from what I've read) the partially scratched-out SN. There are some hairline splits near the nut which seem purely cosmetic and there's no other damage from what I can tell.

There was a buzz in the bridge pickup that I wanted to fix, so I took both off to find they appear to be more recent than 1991 (based on the RoHS stickers but what do I know). Is there a chance that the whole guitar isn't from '91 or would the pups have been swapped out for stock Epiphone P90s at some point? I've read that the SN dating sites aren't perfect and I'm just hoping to get a little more info if anyone has some!

Photos below, please don't mind the dust... :rolleyes:

Thanks :)

Hi Tanglmar.

Welcome to Epi Talk.

Based on your lovely Casino's serial number it was made in June, 2013 at the Qingdao Factory in China.
(I'm assuming the second number in the sequence is a 3?)

Thanks Charles! Yes I believe it's a 3. I paid a little less than what a new Casino would retail for and it came with a hard case so it was a decent deal overall. Can't lie, was hoping for a vintage as was advertised :frown:

serial# reads like:
13=year
06=month
15=factorycode = their own factory in QingDao, China

and

Welcome here @ €piTalk
:wave:
btw, the Casino reissue was introduced in 1995

the prior made models had been made in Japan or Made in the US
Really appreciate the info, thank you both! Going to chat with the store about it. I wonder why the serial number lookup turns up something different.
