Try working the pole pieces? Sometimes the "dark" can be mitigated by getting the pole pieces
in the "correct" position. Raising the poles, sometimes, add more brightness.
Gee whiz Mister Wizard in what direction can I throw my money?
Probably used a guitar dater program or some such thing.
2010 maybe more like it? Maybe??
Epiphone moved its manufacturing from Korea to
Qingdao in China in 2003.
Seems like you got the info correct. Looks like a nice guitar. How's
she feel/play?
Here is the head from my '98 'The Dot' and a pic of the body/pickguard.
Doesn't seem like much has changed from 1998 to 2015 other
than...

The gents above did a nice job of providing for you.
Have fun with the git.
Have D'Addario/Planet Waves and Lava cables.
The D'Addario's claim a capacitance of 28pF/ft on their American Stage cables.
I read in several places that the one stat one to look at is the capacitance of the cable
in relation to the length and wire size is as important.
How much it matters is...
My brother used the one Nat Geo uses and it seems to change over time as the database gets bigger.
We knew about Germany, France and Britain but Greece was a surprise. Probably long lost relatives
and most likely Gypsies knowing my family. :naughty:
I need to come here more often. I get more great excuses for buying another
guitar than any other place
I have run out of room so the need to cut a few
from the herd may be necessary.
It appears that wood density has more to do with the weight
than a model or manufacturer.
I have a '98 MIK Dot that weighs just shy of 8 pounds.
As does the Epi 2020 ES-335 'inspired by' semi-hollow.
2020 LP Modern 'inspired by...' is almost 8.5 pounds.
Hmm. 2 semi-hollows and a "solid body"...
Sounds like some good advice above. I can only add my limited experience.
I bought a MIK Samick plant 1998 Epi Dot, "used/mint" this year. And it is as
described; except for one issue. There were 4 dead frets in the upper neck,
E & B strings but that was not a manufacturing issue.
Now, I say...
I looked at cases for the Starcaster for 3-4 weeks and nothing seemed to come close...and ended up buying an Epiphone case.
I have two cases and did a dry fit. The CV Starcaster moves a bit but with the nice supple guitar strap wrapped along the side
and above the body it is fairly secure...
The finish formal name is Graphite Black.
I have a 2020 Modern in 'black' as well . I think the black is very sharp looking.
I just call it black too. No need me gettin' high falutin' or anything...
