    N Jr D

I bought one of those Epiphones back when they were released in the mid 2000s as a limited edition. It was a well built guitar and played nicely but I couldn't get the pickup high enough to the strings to get sufficient output. It sounded too thin because the strings were too far from the pole...

    Colour fade

That is the most bizarre thing I have ever seen going from bright blue to gray like that. When a finish ages it yellows so the blue would have supposed to have turned green.I don't know how to explain how it turned gray instead...wow.It still looks nice though...enjoy it for what it is.

Anybody here prefer the 1990s-2019 headstock shape over the new 2020s???

As we have seen Gibson has re-vamped the 2020 Epiphone line and now the Les Pauls and SGs have an updated headstock design based on 1950s era Kalamazoo Epiphones.I think these headstock are okaaaay but I'm not overly thrilled with them either.Something about how wide they are at the bottom where...

    LP Custom Pro

I own the same Epi custom model and the tuning stability is great one mine...arguably better than my more expensive Gibsons. When stringing them I insert the string through the post and make the first wrap over the string and the following wraps under it.This locks the string firmly between the...

    NGD '57 Reissue Junior

I owned one back in 2006 and it was a really nice guitar that felt like a Gibson Junior. My only issue with it was that I couldn't set the pickup close enough to the strings to get a good meaty tone that one would expect from a Junior. If I set the bridge too low then the strings would buzz at the...

    What's the point?

No.A basic Les Paul,SG,335 ect with 2 pickups are all wired where if you set the pickup selector switch in the middle position the volume knobs of each pickup are active because both pickups are on.So you can blend out one pickup's volume slightly to give more dominance to the other one.In the...

    What's the point?

Sometimes on a Gibson/Epi guitar with that layout I'll set the switch to the middle position and roll off the neck pickup volume a tad to give dominance to the bridge pickup...it sounds like a slightly fatter bridge pickup sound with a bit of the phasey characteristic you get in the middle...

    NGD...Black Beauty Les Paul!!

So I walked into Guitar center the other week and noticed a black Epiphone Les Paul custom pro for sale in the used section.I picked it up and realized it was in 100% unplayed condition with the plastic film still on the pickguard.Probably a guitar bought by someone who wanted to learn to play...
