Title says it all. Can we speculate? Should I buy a prophecy or wait for possible announcements?

A Kirk Hammett line would be nice, but I think that's highly unlikely this year. He's got so many things going on with endorsements that marketing-wise it wouldnt' make sense. Some of the Dave Mustaine stuff would be nice in the Epiphone range too - tbh, his flying V models, other than the custom shop ones, look a bit out of place in the Gibson range. The silver and green ones would fit perfectly in the $1k-ish range Epiphone lineup.

None of that is new though.

Metalideth has been around for 40+ years.
Well... "new" in Gibson Inc. terms (though I guess Kramer is the exception) has usually either been (i) Henry J extremes (think titanium nut inserts, robot tuners, PCBs with more dip switches than knobs) or (ii) same ol thing in a different color with an artist name attached to it....

I didn't have an issue with the dip switches. I like the idea of having a more versatile instrument. The nut was poorly executed (replacement part debacle) but the gob of glue Corian was arguably worse. Robot tuners... no argument.

(ii) is no different than what a Megtallica run would be.

Maybe a Wilshire / Coroner with a set of Fishmans or something. Another Casino or Sheri would be predictable.

I think some original hollow guitars would be cool. Why make Gibson for Epiphones anniversary? Make some pre-gibby stuff.

Anniversary Edition Century? I'd buy one, especially if it had a P90. A Zephyr would be cool too. I realize it isn't the hot market, but maybe Jazz will make a comeback.

I really don't think Epi will do anything special to commemorate their 150th. If they bothered, I'd hope it was original Epiphones rather than some more IBG or signature models.

They made a.signature Century model not too long ago. If I recall correctly the big issue was disappointment with the fingerboard material.

I still think a "modern player" version would be cool.
