This is a question of what guitars you would pick to complement each other in a band. What do you think would work well together in a band and why?
What are you picking for your lead and rhythm guitarists? What are you picking for your base player? And do you have a preference for what kit you drummer is playing?
Personally I’d opt for:
Lead guitar: I won’t go for a Strat or Les Paul, but I will pick a Tele American Pro II in butterscotch. It feels more like the thinking guitarists’ lead guitar, and I’d like my lead guitarist to be completely engrossed in the music, like some wizardry technician channelling every ounce of skill in to their craft, The crowd facing show boating can be left to the Rhythm/singer and bass player.
Rhythm guitar: It needs to be an Epi Casino. It allows for a bit of raw growl behind the lead guitar and allows a more subtle clean tone for singer/guitarist type songs. This would be supplemented with a Gibson SJ-200.
Bass guitar: This I know least about, but I love the look of the Rickenbacker bass in Fireglow.
Drums: Anything, as long as the band logo looks cool on the bass drum.
Over to you.,,
