My wife and I moved in together about 2 weeks after graduating high school in 1973. Since that time.... our household has only been "without cats" for about 2 weeks back in 2007. Most of the time we owned multiples, as many as 3 at a time. This one in the picture is TK. She brought him home from work.... a cute little stray that wandered into the "Thermo King" service yard... and she couldn't leave him. THAT was in Oct 2007.

This is him fairly recently. he will be turning 17 around the last two weeks of September. Kidneys are bad but, with medication and prescription food.... he is still with us two years after diagnosis. He has detached retinas and can not see anymore. But he's got a "forever home" as long as he wants it.

This is him.... performing his favorite exercise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My cat was blind for the last few years of his life. He still did well. Most of the house and yard (he walked on a long tether) he knew based on his internal map. So he had no real issues coping. Eventually some things like jumping up onto taller objects stopped, but he still got around well and was a great friend until the end.
