Beautiful Autumn here but clouds moving in and supposed to get rain by Thursday which certainly doesn't break my heart.

Too good... I had to boot four 16 year old smart-arsed punks out of my hotel’s pool today & almost ended up in a street brawl with them... Bring on the rain!!!

17C and an 80% chance of 1 mm!

Why even bother raining if they can’t do better than that?

Considering the coverage area...1mm of rain would be a crapload if it fell in one spot. :)

20,931 square kilometres is the area of East Gippsland!

300mm is what is needed each day for the next 4 days, then we might be out of drought!

Starting anytime now would be good~

Beautiful sunny day and perfect for Grouse hunting. A bit nippy up on the mountain but the fall colors were unbelievable.

Now drop the equivalent amount of water to cover 80% of that area 1mm deep on say the square km with your house dead center. ;) Buncha water then eh?
I reckon 5 “ could fall and there wouldnt be any run-off, just soak right in!

Sometimes it feels like we get that amount per month here :wow::D I mowed the lawns yesterday morning between the showers & my footprints are still in the lawns from walking on them yesterday :wow: sodden is the word

We got light rain again today with low grey cloud and a high of 15C. perfect Lancashire weather unless you like a suntan :thumb:

16,744,800,000 liters of water (or 6698 Olympic sized swimming pools) does not just "soak right in"

80% of 20,931 km² is 16,744.8 km² and since it takes a million liters to cover a square kilometer 1mm deep*....
Oh, and it takes 2.5 megaliters of water to fill an Olympic swimming pool**.

** Based on a Olympic Pool design 25 m wide with a depth of 2.0 m at all parts of the course and 50 m in length.

I brought out footnotes! :laugh2:
