Beautiful place Paul, Blimey! he's a big ol boy.
Estes Park is a neat mountain albeit more touristy these days than I like. It's the east gateway to the park and of course many drive up there just to see the elk heard. The elk were there long before the town so as they're concerned it was "go ahead, built your town but we ain't movin".

They are very large critters and willing to sociably share "their space". The bulls can get pretty feisty during mating season and the cows when protecting their calves but as long as people just let them roam around as they're accustomed to doing they're pretty docile beasts.

EDIT; Estes Park is also the location of the Stanley Hotel which as used as the site for the hotel in the movie The Shining. The outdoor scenes were filmed at another location in Oregon but the indoor scenes were filmed in the Stanley which has a reputation for being very haunted.

Ghostly image captured on a stairway. One of many sightings. But then I can imagine there are many even older places in England that have their own reputation for being haunted.
