I have a 1990 MIK (Samick) Epiphone Les Paul Standard. It had some upgrades when I bought it (black tuners and roller bridge).

I am curious as to what the pickups are. They are black which I'm not sure if they came stock black. I can see wax around the posts. I am awaiting a string change to look at the bottom of the pickups.

Are these Pickups stock or after market? What kind could they be? (see Avatar)

As seen in that little avatar picture, they could be anything. They could be stock with black covers. Who knows ? You don't need to change the strings to get the pickups out.

Not sure how to resize photos to fit this page but I took some. I broke a string after re-tuning. If you can get the pickups out with the strings on you are a better man than I. The bridge pickup has a B written in marker. The neck pickup has an N. No other writing or numbers. Will post pictures if anyone has any insight on that one. :hmm:

Ooops !
If I do it, I put something like a piece of foam between strings and neck to keep tension on strings.

I'd say next to impossible to identify if there is no branding on the pickups. Was there a pick guard on it, been removed ?

If it's written in marker, they're probably aftermarket, most epi pups are stamped 'Epiphone', with an F(neck/front) & an R(bridge/rear)

Can't really tell from the pics, no markings. "might' be older epi pups.
DC resistance might help

Kinda hard to say, but if I had to bet, I'd say after market for sure.
How do they sound is the more important question.

I've only played it through headphones due to my current roomate situation. The playabilty and sound of the guitar acoustically is amzing. Looking forward to cranking it up through an amp. Thanks for the input.

UPDATE: Finally plugged it in and these pickups sound Amazing! One of the nicest playing and sounding guitars I've ever played and I got it for a hundred bucks!
