Your “nicest” guitar- the one that other players like, the fanciest, the dearest, etc.- is it your favorite?

For me, no. I have a few “nice” guitars, but the guitar I like to play most is an Epi modern.

It feels right. I can get my groove on. I seemingly can't bang it out of tune.

I. Love. Ebony.

I swapped in an aluminum tailpiece and roller bridge. Lowering the pbs made them sound like bbs to me. It weighs 42 pounds (estimated.)

Sometimes I lock it in its case and bury the key (not in the ground, I have no yard) to make sure I play the others enough to justify owning them.

You?

My nicest has to be my Riviera. In person it is stunning and classy, like it would be at home in am orchestra surrounded by violins and cellos and such. It is not my favorite.

For a long time my favorite has been my olive drab Casino. It plays very well, you can feel it swell while playing, and it has a very different sound.

Lately, the one trying to push the Casino from the podium is a Chicago blue 56 LP. The fat neck, the P90s, the beautiful color, and the feel of the fretboard make it hard to put down. It isn't perfect, it was bought used and has a replaced bridge that doesn't match the tail, the back of the neck was sanded down and not done well, and the truss cover is cracked. Doesn't matter, it is tied for first place.

Depends what nice is for you. I like minimalistic guitars, no bling, no gold. My simplest ones are my preferred.

But this one leans the other way and I like it a lot.

Really dig that color! I've been eyeballing a firemist gold one for a while.
Not certain what they actually called it other than to describe it as gold/bronze. It's kind of a cross between a Champagne Metallic and Shoreline Gold.

The double bound alder body came from an FSR Classic Vibe Custom Tele. I used that to build out the rest myself in order to make it "my" Custom Tele.

Almost all my guitars cost roughly the same and 90% are epiphones. That said, I have 2 that dominate my playing time. So yes I believe my nicest guitar is my most played. My Silverburst Custom I got from GC about 2 years ago now.

Almost embarrassed to say. I own a Gibson ES-339, Charvel Pro-Mod Style SoCal Style 2, Gretsch, Epiphone LP, Fender Strat, Fender Acoustisonic, and some others. My fave is a $255 Harley Benton Strat Firemist 25th Anniversary. I did drop in a loaded pickguard with good electronics and it's a rocking machine, plays better than anything I've ever owned. I'm selling the 339 as it's nothing but expensive wall art.

No need to be embarrassed, it is what it is. A very corksnifless attitude, I like that.

I don't have any guitars that aren't nice, so I'd have to say that in this case "nicest" would refer to the most expensive one. I have about 36 guitars.

Among my Les Pauls, my most expensive is a Gibson LP Traditional. That beautiful Gibson LP Traditional is lead-weight wall art.

But I like my Epi Modern Les Pauls more and play them more.

Among my Teles, same kind of square off. Favorites are definitely not the most costly ones. Same goes for my hand guns... favorites are not my most expensive ones. So funny... this holds true for my knives, flashlights, and watches too.

Clearly, I just have a preference for very well-made items that serve wonderfully and yet are not particularly "fancy", nor the most expensive.

I love the Moderns. I bought the newer SG in purple and it rips
