My “nicest” guitar would be my PRS P24. It’s not my favorite and like someone else said, that would be like picking a favorite child. I like all of the guitars I have and enjoy playing each of them. It really depends on my mood and what kind of music I’m playing….

I cast "Other" because :

1 - All my guitar are nice - at least to my eyes, OK ? - otherwise I would not keep them...

Deduced from the previous sentence :

2 - I have no real favorite guitar, or all of them are favorite alternately...

I'll just mention some of them, as an explanation of my position on the subject !

You certainly have a type! One of them visually doesn't match the rest of the pack as much to my eyes, but all are very nice looking!

Genuinely can’t think of what my favourite guitar is, let alone pick my nicest. My opinion on my guitars changes from week to week! A musical instrument isn’t just an object that can make sound, but I think it is something you can develop a personal bond and form an emotional attachment (maybe I’m getting too deep here).

However there is one guitar I never seem to favour, and although it is a very good guitar, I just can’t seem to get on board with it. Playing it leaves me feeling unsatisfied, but when switching to my Casino or J200, I get what must be an endorphin hit through the appreciation of how great those two guitars are.

So my least favourite has made me really appreciate my favourites.

I've spent years accumulating a stable of favorites: Strat Plus, Epi Nighthawk, Agile Harm 12-string, Yamaha FG730, Recording King 12-string, Squier Standard Tele, Squier Paranormal Cabronita Thinline, an Indiana Strat that I painted and modded, a family heirloom acoustic, ... and does my banjo count?

This is what your best guitar should be.

Lyrics loosely translated. Not as poetic as in French.

Your body of wood your veins of steel
Hid all secrets still rooted
Your magical arm like a fairy's
With which I learned to waltz

You're in my life, part of it forever

Do you remember that first night
You were dreaming in your box, I was dreaming in my bed
Dreaming aloud of the same music
Like lovers learning to touch each other

On a C chord, we invented a duet
You hold all the keys
Imagine where we could go

Do you remember our first show
You were out of tune, I forgot the words
Since then, our bodies have been alike
The same notes, we were born together

You're in my life, part of it forever

You know well the sweat of my hand
Searching for the final chord that will never end
A sound that replaces all words
To join you in the land above

On a C chord, we invent a duet
You're the one with all the keys
Imagine where we could go

On a C chord, we invent a duet
It's you who holds all the keys
Imagine where we could go

It's much better
When we listen to each other
It's much better
When we listen to each other
It's much better
When we listen to each other

I like that.
A partner for making music with. A compatriot.

Or accomplice.
Precisely - you get to know a guitar, some better than others. Put your guitar in lineup of same make & model guitars, and I reckon it’ll be fairly easy to identify your own. Harder to do with a guitar you’ve recently purchased, maybe easier with ones you play all the time.
