New epiphone with excess dye coming off fretboard

It could be,I have another spare set from the same batch so the next time the strings get changed if my fingertips start blackening then I'll know for sure but at this moment in time I'd reckon it's from the fretboard as I have been using dunlop pure nickel strings for a few months now and not had this problem but it doesn't rule out the possibility of course.
Well, my fingertips always get black when playing for a longer time. Even if the strings are fresh. I use nickel wound strings.

I used rotosound nickel wound for around 20 odd years and have recently changed to pure nickels,you should try them out they feel great.
I'm currently using dunlops but fender bullets are great aswell.

When trying out my new lp today I got black fingertips again although not anywhere near as bad so I'm pretty sure it was the fretboard.
