Removed my pickguard today.

Looks great. I took mine off a few months ago. The tones will be set free but you've killed the sustain. That's where it is kept. No more minute long, Gary Moore style notes. I thought everyone knew that.

Does look good off in this case. I think with a nice grain pattern, better off than on. Sometimes I like it though, depends.

I am not a fan of Ambers but I think you are right. Not too shabby-looking on that top.

I have always liked the look of no pickguard (except for the '56s. For some reason the pickguard just fits). Nice job.

Yep, I agree, the ambers really look good here.

Not sure I would worry about the holes though. You could put the screws back as mentioned. And at some point you might want the guard back on.

You might try a minwax wood filler "crayon"
Like this, but the right color

This isn't the only solution,just off the top of my head.
I bet Clive has a good solution, not putting him on the spot, but he's got a lot of experience with this stuff
