I spotted THIS on my local craigslist earlier today, I called the # and didn't bother haggling. Just said tell me when/where you want to meet and I'll be there with cash in hand. I never see deals this sweet pop up. Anyway going to post pics shortly of the guitar!

*edit heres a screen grab of the origianl craigslist ad since it's been deleted

Ok here is the 150 buck special, I don't know what year it is. The frets are in great condition but the strings are dead. The guitar needs a cleaning, restring etc. The guitar works fine all the knobs and switches are good. The hardware is all gold. The seller said it was "cherry red" and that he owned for 10 years. Can you guys tell me anything else about this guitar?

Hmm well the serial would indicate that its a 2009 so I guess his owning it for 10 years story was not true?

Well maybe it felt like 10 years? Anyway, nice score. Note that guitarun-dater is notoriously unreliable on off-the-wall stuff but on standard QingDao LPs etc it works fine.

Also if he owned it for 10 years he didn't play it much because gold wears off way faster than that! Now go wear some of that gold off!

Appears to be the "worn" finish like they use on the SG I have not seen it on a Les Paul.......wait no I di on an Epi Studio Les Paul it looks legit.....if you not liking it I will give you 100.00 for it ;)

My Epi LP Ultra II has the same "matte" finish on the neck and back of headstock
ANd they use it on several of the LP special models like the P90 LP Special......I have never seen it with gold hardware and in a "standard" model......its either very rare or the TRC has been changed.

PErhaps you can find its model info here

The color is WC (worn cherry) and is a Standard LP color according to the epiphonewiki. It does have a "limited edition/custom shop" logo on the back of the headstock but thats probably because of the gold hardware or paint?

Congrats, that's 2 nice scores pretty close together, I need to hang out with you lol.
Fine looking LP you got there, a nice compliment to the SG you stole!!
The 2 cases are worth more than you paid for either guitar:h5:

Well thank you very much!!

Yes apparently sitting here all day hitting the refresh button on craigslist is definitely starting to pay off :)

Just out of curiosity would you guys put guitar polish on this LP or just clean it and be done?

If it's anything like my Gibbson SG faded don't use guitar polish it will take off the finish! If you want more sheen use something like car wax... But if you don't want to add shine, leave it be :). I used some car wax to bring up a little more shine, not too much but it looked a bit flat for me.

And here she is after a very thorough cleaning, restring and full setup!! This is the best playing, looking and sounding guitar that I own now, oh and it was also the cheapest!
