Serial Number Conundrum

I'm more of a browser than a poster but here goes:

I have a nice 2001 Korean LP Gold Top with a Gibson truss rod cover. I've just also picked up a LP Special with a Gibson TR cover - does that mean it's likely to be from around the same year? It has a serial number (shown) but it isn't recognised on guitardataproject etc. Can anybody help with dating it?

Maybe the first one is not meant to be a zero, but the letter O?

So that's an O at the front of the number rather than a zero? That would explain why I couldn't get the number to make any sense! :-)
