Wow, an Epi Trini! That would be cool. That Gibson really drained my bank account. Most expensive guitar I have ever purchased in my life. I appreciate Epiphone's even more now.

It's actually a Dave Grohl signature... Kinda thought the pictures would have made that pretty clear. Plus stoptail vs trapeze.

Quite often, yes, but that wasn't the intention here.

In my prior post I put in a picture of Dave Grohl holding the guitar as well as an animated gif from a Foo Fighters video... I also inserted a shot of the Gibson Dave Grohl signature that should have highlighted the key difference, namely the stoptail on the DG vs the trapeze on the Trini model.

The Foo Fighters frontman has used a Gibson Trini Lopez ES-335 on all of the band's albums

So this cheapie wall hanger turned up, water stained with a coat of poly on it the texture of deck grip.
Stripped and oiled it, gave it a pickguard in lovely moto with a new bracket and a new ebony bridge and strap pin.
It stays in tune and even intonates really well but there's a rise in the fretboard at the heal so the action is slide-guitar height.
It's been really fun doing this Cartiphone as a run up to making a kit or two.

Nice guitar! I got a PRS DGT SE on the way AMS has them for $799 for Black Friday. I got mine for $729 it has a blemish thought I had found a deal until I got a text announcing the sale.
