Hey,
Can someone please advise me if this Les Paul Custom is genuine or fake? The paint trim/binding at the tip of the headstock looks off to me. The logo also looks a bit dodgy. I could really use an experienced opinion on it though. These pictures were sent by the seller:

Not an expert but that looks to me like it's had an amateur repair to some chipped paint at the end of the headstock. The binding does come down quite far at the point, but I'll leave that to the experts to comment on.

Not seeing anything that sets off my alarms, although the binding at the top of the headstock in the indent looks weird, nothing too far out of the ordinary. Everything else looks good to me, legit tuners, right font for the serial number, control knob alignment is good, body shape good, headstock shape and diamond placement is good. I'll defer to Peter but to me it looks legit.

I wonder if the end of the headstock has been damaged and reconstructed/repainted? The spacing of the layers of binding aren't even which makes me ponder whether it has been hand painted on after a repair? The only way you would know is to see it in the flesh I guess?

I think youre right! I looked closer at the "hon" part of the logo, and its definitely different from the rest. Furthermore, the rest of the logo looks legitimate. It probably is a genuine Epi then, just a bad repair job ahah

Fake. EE too big, tuners have sloped washers, writing on truss rod wrong font and not centered top to bottom, tuner overlapping diamond inlay. I'm sure there's more but those low res pics only give us so much to go on.

Thanks. The tuner washer touching the split diamond inlay is what made me suspicious.

I'm willing to bet that looking at the control cavity would cinch it.

Look at the neck joint by the pickguard, It's a bolt-on. Who would fake a $129 plywood Epiphone ?
