USA Casino

I received an email from Epiphone stating that the USA Casino is out today. The email also specifies that this is no April Fools joke. I am excited to try one. I really like them. I am curious how, besides the nitrocellulose finish on the USA model which I do like, this guitar could be any better than my 50th Anniversary Casino. I read that the neck profile is a bit different but it still sounds comfortable. It would also be fun to compare a Casino Worn with these new USA Casinos.

Branding aside, this is a USA made Gibson ES 330 which were selling for over $3,000 a few years ago now selling for $2,700 with Epiphone on the headstock.

I noticed you can order them on the Epiphone website, but my dealer was on the phone with them yesterday and there was no timeline for when they would be in stores.

I'm a bit shocked they would ship out a guitar with a chip in the fretboard no matter how minor. Many wouldn't find that acceptable even on a $750 import.

Where are they building these USA versions? Nashville or Montana?

I seldom if ever hear of a QC issue with acoustics that come out of the Montana shop but we're always hearing about issues with stuff being built in Nashville.

Well I really don’t know. I am just grateful that Gibson has achieved what they have achieved with the Epiphone line in China.

The more you pay for a guitar, the more expectations of quality and craftsmanship you have for that guitar.

Expectations are a tricky thing. You always run the risk of being let down.
