The best solid state amp ever made (in my opinion) is the LAB Series, made by Bob Moog for Gibson in the late 70s and early 80s. I have a 1980 LAB Series L5, and it is just an incredible amp. This was a highend product, made to compete with the Fender Twin, but it was difficult to sell expensive...
Yes, Norway is expensive, and especially Northern Norway. But the krone has actually been quite weak for a few years now, today you get nine kroner and change for an American dollar. It used to be more like five or six kroner for a dollar.
Oh yes. Here in Southern Norway, there's no midnight sun, but in May, June and July it still never gets completely dark. And it's a lot warmer here. In good years, summer starts in mid May.
This is the guitar of my life. Fender Custom Shop Jazzmaster, Fiesta red thin nitrocellulose, gold hardware, highly figured birdseye maple neck, rosewood fretboard, prototype pickups. Neck date January 15, 1998.
This is the first vintage spec US Jazzmaster ever built after Fender quit regular...
It might have been good when it was new, and it looks OK, but now the saddles are badly worn. You can really hear that the sustain is suffering, especially on the G string and to a lesser degree on the B string. I guess finding well-fitting replacement saddles is impossible.
Like this. Slightly above freezing now, so it's starting to melt a little. Our rehearsal room is on the top floor of this building, the old railway station.
Yup, that's the one. Really looking forward to getting one as soon as they're back in stock. The Samick Sheraton is a very good guitar, with a better bridge, it'll be a great guitar.
Thanks! I actually found it myself. It's Kluson, and it looks very nice. Of course, the goldplated is out of stock, but I'll get it as soon as it's back. I can't post links yet, but search for "nashville tune-o-matic bridge for samick" on Kluson's webpage.
I have a 1990 Sheraton (Samick-made), and it's a very good guitar after pickups and electronics upgrades. But the bridge saddles are very worn, and the bridge itself maybe not of the best quality. Does anyone know if there are any replacement bridges for this guitar? The post hole diameter is 6...
Thanks! I live in Kragerø, a little town on the South-Eastern coast with a lot of isles and skerries. It might not be as spectacular as Nothern Norway here, but I love this place. This view is not far from my house.
I use Thomastik-Infeld 12–50 flats on most of my guitars, but my only Les Paul (2014 Gibson Traditional) is too dark-sounding with those. It is also the only guitar I use for some bending (I am not a blues player), so I have Rotosound Pure Nickels 11–48 on it. When you're used to playing...
Hi! I have several Epiphones, but didn't know there was an Epiphone Forum before I accidently found you only today.
All my Epiphones are Korean made, my favourite is a 2001 sunburst Zephyr Blues King, made by Peerless. I also have a 1988 sunburst Emperor (pre-Joe Pass) and a 1990 natural...
