It was like that when I bought it a couple of years ago. It's 23 years old now so I presume it just naturally went like that after a while. Some people don't like yellowed plastics but I'm a fan :-)
Thanks for the reply...glad it's not just me that finds the pickups dull. The pickguard was white at one stage but it's yellowed considerably. It hasn't been kept in direct sunlight or anything, I think some plastics are just prone to yellowing.
