900.00 for a guitar that includes a full thickness maple cap, hand wired controls, an ebony fretboard, long tenon neck and Seymour Duncan Slash signature pickups (209.00) is not too much. Say you get a Epi Standard Plustop Pro, that is 599.00, add the pickups 808.00, how much is it going to cost you to rewire it to vintage 50s with orange drop caps? (20.00 for the pots, 4.00 for the output jack, 16.00 for the switch, 10.00 for the vintage cloth wire, 3.00 for the BUS wire, 3.00 for the caps for a total of 56.00) Now you are up to 864.00, so is 35.00 worth it for an ebony board, long tenon neck, signature finish and the cool factor of owning 1 of only 900 made (total number of unsigned being produced)? Sure is to me.

Considering that's all retail prices, that leaves Epi with a decent margin too. Not too shabby.

Didn't the Slash Rosa Corsa sell for this same price? I don't see many complaints on that one and it's pretty much the same guitar, just a different color. :dunno:

It had the case included and the price was 800-850 if I remember correctly.
The new one is 900 without a case or 1200 with case. Back then it was not a deal exactly but it was ok.
For the price of the new one you have better alternatives. This doesn't make the Epi bad. Just not the best way one can spend his money.

Anybody seen one of those yet?

I has the chance to see and touch one today. Nice guitar - enormous, chunky and (so it felt) wide neck, though. More so than I expected. Beatiful colour in real life!

Didn’t try it with an amp, though. Thinking of buying it tomorrow if it sounds good...

I bought my trib + in 2014. It came with Gibson pickups, maple cap, and a case. $599.99. Prices have gone haywire.

I got mine in 2016. The blu... excuse me, Midnight Sapphire, was $599 while the other colors were (I think) $749. Now they are $749 at GC and $799 at Sweetwater.

Lucky to get a deal! They went up to $649 the month after I got mine. They'll be $1000 in a few years if the company survives.

Well.. I went ahead and got one - the unsigned version.. Loving it already and it sure as hell smokes my 2012 Standard Plus Top Pro...

It has a really big and chunky neck but you get used to it in a very few short minutes. The fingerboard is really nice and the ebony looks great.

The tone is really, really good in my humble ears - heavy on the mids and brighter than I would have thought. It has a lowish output compared to my older one - without the farting of the Epi standard pups. Really nice!

Strings being new and all it sounds quite strat'ish.

Pics below if I can make it work...

I recall in an interview Slash said that he loves those big, fat, 50's style necks. My cherry sunburst LP standard has one. It's a very different feel. :)
