Gold SG Standard

While at my local Guitar Center I came across a lovely gold SG that appeared to be a Standard model. They didn’t have any info on the tag and of course the workers there are clueless about Epiphones. Does anyone know what model this actually is? It was tempting to purchase it but I have my heart set on an SG Classic Worn with P90s. I found a cherry one in stock online so I’ve already ordered it it will be here Wednesday for my 55th birthday. I will post pics of it when it arrives. Just wondering about this gold SG.

I never thought I‘d like a thick neck but the one on my new to me 50s Les Paul is supposedly a chunky neck and I find it very comfortable to play. Not sure how I’m gonna like the slim taper neck on my new SG Classic after getting used to the thicker neck.

If that has the same neck as the LP Trad Pro 4 it's not the slimmest of slim necks at least. The neck on my Trad 4 isn't as beefy as on my 59, but it has more meat than my worn Casino or my new LP custom. Some time soon I'm going to measure them all and document the shapes.

I saw one of those at a GC but didn't pick it up because they had it on the high rack. The gold is really wild in person.

They're clueless about everything.

Yeah that is a great price. It was still $499 when I saw it. Had I not just spent the last of my spending money on a Les Paul I’d be all over that.
