Absolutely beautiful LPs. Especially the 59 :wow:

Thanks - they're both great players; I prefer the looks of the '59 (although I wish it was teardrop as opposed to rim burst) and the neck on the '60. The '60 is a little too clownburst for me but it's such a good player that I'm willing to overlook that!

I don't consider myself a collector. But I have five of them.

Vintage 1964 Epiphone Coronet
Epiphone Masterbilt AJ500ME
Epiphone ES-335 Pro
Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus Top Pro
Epiphone 56 Les Paul Pro

Excellent guitars. The 64 Coronet is ridiculous its so cool. Before buying the 56, I had just sold a Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Special. The 56 scratches that itch admirably. In fact, I reach for the 56 much more frequently than I did for the CS Special.

Actually, I am now up to 6, since I bought a used 2010 Epiphone SST Studio. if you don't know, this is the Epi version of the old Gibson Chet Atkins SST "solid body acoustic/electric".

I added this beauty to my collection a few days ago. Tak Matsumoto DC Custom Outfit, with Gibson Burstbuckers. It is one sweet guitar. :thumb:

Congrats :applause:

Yep, one of the best 'bang for the buck' offers Epi had in the last years
not to forget the Ebony fretboard and hardcase (paid less than €500 for it)

love mine...
Those are getting too common

Down to 1 now, my Sheraton goes nowhere! It's really amazingly good. Hadda trade my EJ 200 with some cash to my brother for a Es 135

You could get a Towner bar for the blonde Sherry, to fill the stoptail holes. They look pretty cool. Or one of these here

Yeah already got one of the "Custom Made" plates just didn't have it when the picture was taken, also thinking of a custom TRC from the same place. Also got a "Duane Eddy" handle for the B7 will post a new picture when it get back from my tech (having a set of Spraque Hyrel .022 PIO installed).

My son has fallen for the freqeunsator bridge on the sherry so we're gonna fit one to his Studio dot, just not sure if we should switch thch'se volume & toggle switch (basically creating a poor mans ES335 Studio / Sheraton Hybrid (a bit like we did with the gold Gretsch's)

a quick mock up (tailpiece in place but not fully screwed in yet)

Cool, the longer piece usually goes to the treble strings but ive seen it that way too, not sure why.

They were only put on like this to take the mockup (in truth I had a brain fart:o) Depending on which way they are placed the tone of the guitar will change. like you I've have seen the tailpieces done both ways and the way my father explained it to me whenn I was younger was this, Standard way like on our sherry 62's the plain strings should feel virtually the same tension as with the stud tailpiece whereas the wound string should feel a bit softer ideal for jazz and blues.

If you change them around like in the picture above in theory the wound string feel softer and the plain strings should feel similar to being top wrapped over a stud tailpiece which should give you a good tone for more modern blues and rock.

in theory If you do a lot of string bending during songs try the version above.

I don't just collect Epiphones, I collect guitars that I like for whatever reasons I happen to like them. I have more Epiphones than any other make, though, because I love the way they sound, the way they look, the way they play, and because they are affordable. Here's my current Epiphone family:

Bottom Row, Left to Right: B.B. King Lucille (year and manufacturer unknown), 2001 Wildkat (Samick), 2005 Jack Casady Bass (Saein), 1998 Casino (Peerless), 1996 Sorrento (Peerless)

I'm loving that Jack Casady, there's one of those in Black in my future.

I'm not really a collector, but if I had more money I would have more Epiphones. I only have a couple of guitars apart from the ones in my signature. And, I recently sold the EA250 and can't bring myself to take it off the sig. I wasn't really attached to it, and the money is going towards a custom strat build.
