Forgot about this place for a while until i got an e-mail reminding me.
Anyway,Went out to try a few Dots as i was fancying one for jazz and blues and came home with an Epiphone Lucille
(I tried linking the pics with photobucket and i tried uploading them but it wouldn't let me do either.
You all know what a Lucille looks like.Black with gold sparkly bits)

I tried a DOT and it was.....ok.
Neck felt okish and pickups kind of lifeless.
So i kept looking and thought i'll try the Lucille just out of curiosity as i've never tried one.
Did'nt expect too much tbf as i believe it has the same bog standard epi pickups as the Dot.
However it sounds totally different and totally better.
I'd say it stands up against my Gibbos which both have the '57 classics in.
The neck on the Lucille is real nice too.Really comfortable.
I've played with the varitone and now i just leave it on 1 as i like the full bore sound.
The difference in sound compared with the Dot is very noticeable and surprising.
Happy with this thing.
Great clean through my Princeton.

a few weeks ago I sold my Epi Lucille....

it was my 'first love' for many years :naughty:
Yeah i've always been apprehensive to buy a signature guitar but i can look past it with Lucille. She's a beaut.Sounds sweet.I think it sounds nicer than my Sheraton with the '59's in.
