I was in the Guitar Center picking up a couple of cables and I decided to try out the Riviera that I had been admiring for a while. Mistake. I couldn't put it down. Feels great in the hand, flawless sparkling burgundy finish, good weight, well done hardware, and the mini-humbuckers sound marvelous. It got me.
Here it is in all its glory. God help me.Riviera small.JPG

I completely understand. If I got that close to that one it would've been hard to resist too. Looks a lot like a Casino with mini-humbuckers and I have a real weakness for the darker wine red colors Epi uses. It's gorgeous.

My wife gets overcome by my gas all the time but it never got me a nice guitar
Riviera are so good. I think they are underpriced but don't tell Epiphone. Nice choice.

These are great guitars, used to own one exactly like yours and stupidly sold it.
I've been missing it since then.

Fine guitar, indeed !
If I had to think about an Epiphone semi-hollow, this would be a Red Riviera like yours ! :naughty:
I wonder if they issued this model in LH :hmm:, but I'm afraid they didn't.... :frown:

Removed the strings, cleaned and polished everything, treated the fingerboard with Monty's Guitars Instrument Food, and then re-strung with E.B .08 to .38s. Sounds great and you barely have to breathe on the strings to fret notes and chords. This is my nicest Epiphone since my Sheraton II almost ten years ago.

I know a nice red guitar when I see one - that's one right there!
Nice mini-hum config too.
