I have a few 335 guitar cases. Tried the Squier Starcaster in each and there is too much room,
Not comfortable with the 335 cases at all. The Starcaster would move around too much.
I think that's actually a better problem to have. A guy can always add padding; interference from being the wrong shape is of greater concern.

Raiyn, I was looking at Guardian cases for the Starcaster and ran across an SKB case.
Have you seen this one? Seems like it will fit. Definitely can be put on a plane.

I might have seen one or two of those. 😏
They'll fit a Jag with a Bigsby, but I'd be hesitant to try a semi hollow.

I looked at cases for the Starcaster for 3-4 weeks and nothing seemed to come close...and ended up buying an Epiphone case.
I have two cases and did a dry fit. The CV Starcaster moves a bit but with the nice supple guitar strap wrapped along the side
and above the body it is fairly secure. I don't hear any knocking or sliding.

If for some weird reason I had to put it on a plane it would be no big whoop. I'd just use some packing stuff (bubble pack etc.) to
secure it knowing those airport gorillas like to throw things around.

I dunno.

I think if I were to get one it would end up in a Mono Vertigo

I'd prefer a Vertigo Ultra as tested below, but their level of "scientific" testing is seemingly beyond anything the murder mittened furballs can do so perhaps the standard Vertigo would be sufficient. A well positioned scratching post could possibly do wonders too if I went down that road.
