Nice elaborate photo composition. Or is it just the usual mess ?I installed a Guyker “Les Trem” a couple of days ago,I also have one on my Contemporary Jaguar.Never had any tuning issues yet, they both stay in tune even after vigorous use and sitting for a few days.View attachment 26452

Lightning bolt wraparound ?I think the one and only thing I dislike on the Special is how I have to mes with the strings to sit right on the tail. Do any of you guys notch yours? I don't have enough hands to hold the string centered while restringing. What's the trick?
Yes sir. The strings have made small marks that they can settle into, but new strings don't always want to settle into them and go to one side or another.Lightning bolt wraparound ?
Hmm ... never found that to be a problem. Once the string is under tension, it never moves sideways.Yes sir. The strings have made small marks that they can settle into, but new strings don't always want to settle into them and go to one side or another.
I'm curious if it has to do with string design. Some I've used have too much wind at the ring end and don't comply well with the wrap. These are SIT strings and don't exactly have that issue, but seems like the tension is there even without the excess wind.Hmm ... never found that to be a problem. One thing you might have missed is to slip each string in an extra ball end before threading it in the bar. That way, it keeps the wind toward the inside of the bridge.I'm curious if it has to do with string design. Some I've used have too much wind at the ring end and don't comply well with the wrap. You need to sew yourself a shirt out of Scotch Brite.I'm working on a natural relic job on my 339. Not dong a very good job though, It's 11 years old and still looks like the day I brought it home.
So, back to work.

So do you also keep the factory window stickers intact after buying a new car? Just asking!Well... today I put Lucy The Love Machine in my lap and pondered that little inspection sticker on the back of the headstock that's been on it for 19 years. Should I remove it or not? The wife says to leave it alone. Now the happy wife, happy life concept pops into the picture. Oh well... I'll get used to it.
Never owned a new car so I have no idea. I am going to take the sticker off simply because it annoys me. Have no idea what this guitar will be worth in 20 more years but I seriously doubt I'll put a grandkid through college if I sell it but it's priceless to me. Since I'm a no stickers fellow, problem solvedSo do you also keep the factory window stickers intact after buying a new car? Just asking!

Can't be done without compromises. Either route for the new pickup size or be content with imitations.Forgive me if I’m asking a stupid question, but has anyone swapped out the pickups on a guitar for something rather different? Like P90s on a ES335 or Humbuckers on a Casino? If so, what was it like?
