What guitar brands do you have enough of, as in you aren't going to buy any more of them? And, which ones are you now considering.

Well, for me it's Epiphone and Fender.

I've sold about ten guitars this year and have traded a couple of guitars as well. I am still prowling for Gretsch, Rickenbacker, and maybe another Gibson or two

Epiphones: I still have 5. I have a Monkey SG, 3 Les Paul's, and a 12 String Hummingbird. My wife has a Muse SG as well.
Fenders: I have 3, 2 70's Strats and a 2020 HM Strat reissue. Finding spectacular Fenders with U necks is kinda difficult. If the right deal came along on a black guard butterscotch Tele with a thick U neck, I would have to consider it. But, I'm not actively looking.

Gretsch: well I'm looking for another Hollow Body and a 3 pickup Malcolm Double Jet, and maybe another Electromatic Double Jet sans Bigsby for my son.

Gibson: There's one Les Paul Standard I want in a 60's format, as I already have 2 higher end Epiphone LP's in 50's with fat necks. I also want an LP junior, and a matching set of SG's with Vibrolas for my son and I.

Rickenbacker: I want a 4003 bass.

if I said:
I have enough FGNs.......
and I have enough black guitars
will not buy any more.

....it would be an April fools joke
I scrolled down, waiting for the punch.

I've had 3 GIbson that stayed for a few months, no more of those for me. For the rest, not actively looking for anything, but if the right flipper comes along ...

Pretty much maxed out on fender, but I just stumbled upon the Squires. I guess technically they're a different brand. Pretty sure I'm gonna get a couple more of them. The C.V. series is really very good, who knew?

My 3 K Yairis are enough. I have all bases covered there.

Epis. I'll continue to pick up Masterbilt and IBG acoustics as they come to light and finances allow.

I'm waiting on a black ES or Florentine Les Paul to pop up. Either /Or.

There's a couple of archtops I'd like to add to the collection, again, as they pop up and finances allow.

I’m done with Seagull acoustic guitars, because for the last nearly 20 years, they’ve been attaching their guitar necks with epoxy. When the time comes for a neck reset, which it does for every acoustic eventually, you’re SOL. That epoxied neck ain’t coming off. Fortunately the one I own is a 1999 and the neck is a bolt-on.

There aren’t any guitars or brands I’m gassing for at the moment. What I have I like, and anything more would be gluttony.

Except pedals. I need a Wampler Tumnus klone. And a Polytune tuner. And…

Well, I’ve been pretty gluttonous. For the last 3 years I’ve been a member of the One a Month Club.

I’ve bought four so far this year. But my next one is going to be 2 to 3K. And I’ve got about 5 in my current stable that are going to my son.

That will leave me with 19. I started off the year at 34.

Over the past few years my guitar ensemble has evolved into a pure Epiphone collection, and moved away from Fender. It’s a nice group of three (J200, Casino and LP). So if a 4th was to be added I’m unsure if I should stick with Epi or start afresh with something new, and add a different gang of three, with an acoustic & electric mix.

I had a dozen Epiphones. I sold a few, and bought a Gibson, and four Gretsches.

6 Epi electrics and 1 Hummingbird 12 string. 1 Taylor 6 string.

I don’t have space for anything more or realy a need.

I have long range plans to buy an Epi 12 string LP.
It would be an expensive project to buy one (they are rare) and then strip the hardware and tuners, pu’s etc…(my preference when it comes to Epi’s pre-China build)

I’ve always had a thing for Gretsches, but I doubt I would want three of them. My minor OCD makes me want to stick to a pattern, so either all Epiphone or have equal numbers the same types of guitar. If all Epiphone, it would need to be a 12 string hummingbird and a 335, to make a collection of a solid body (LP), semi-hollow (335], fully hollow (Casino), Jumbo (J200) and 12-string (Hummingbird). If picking a different brand, it would need to fit the acoustic, solid body, arch-top to pair with my Epiphones. It might sound daft, but to not have that neat matching collection would make my head continuously focus on it.

My collection started out as all Epiphones. Then I bought a big ol' Gretsch hollow body, and fell in love. I got rid of a few Epi's and bought some Gretches. Here's what's currently in the stable:

Gretsch Airline Silver hollow body Classic
Black Double Cut Electromatic Jet from 2018
Silver custom pinstriped Rat Rod
White Falcon Rancher acoustic
Electromatic Jet Short scale bass

The Epiphones
Ebony Worn Casino
Ebony Worn LP with SD '59 zebras
Guitar Center silver burst LP custom
AJ custom silverburst with the Not Dead Yet art on the back
A cheap black D100 acoustic I use as my busker guitar

My next is going to be a black Vox Bobcat with P90's. It will be my first guitar that's not an Epiphone or Gretsch.

I'm not sure how I feel about that 😀🤘

Well I started off the year with two Streamliners, sold one, did some work on the CADILLAC green 2420 that I kept and bought a case for it. I'm giving that one to my son.

That leaves me with 3 Electromatics and a White Falcon. So yeah, I'm about Gretsched out now. Although AMS has an exclusive color red metallic Epiphone Explorer for $649.00 when they get more in next month I will probably get one of those.

That would scratch my Explorer itch at about 1/4 the price of a Gibson I was looking at. Just gonna use it on a couple of Cheap Trick tunes like Ain't That a Shame.
