I have a Habitat for Humanity Re-Store shop just 10 minutes away and I've found some real bargains there. I used to find the same at a Goodwill Thrift Store in Englewood when I lived there.

I'm amazed at the top shelf brands of clothing people donate that are either unworn or virtually unworn. Golf shirts and Polo Shirts that retail for $40 and more sell for $5. Slacks and jeans sell for $5-$10 that would also sell for $40 and more. I've even found bargains on shoes and boots. I'm not too proud to bargain shop at a thrift store.

I'm looking online for a pair of joggers as some of mine has seen better days, The only trouble is they are mostly skinny fit sizes & only regular fit leg size, I'm lanky with a 86cm/34" inside leg. the search continues.
I'm seeing lots of Christmas stuff popping up in my feeds WTH! it's September.

I mowed the lawns again yesterday to get as much cut grass on the compost piles before Winter as I can, then started clearing out the other greenhouse. There are still some ripe red bell peppers & chillies in there.
I grew some Jalapenos just to see how they'd do here & I didn't expect them to do so well with the poor weather we've had but lots of ripe ones.
I don't know what I'm going to do with them, as they're too spicy hot for me & none of my family eats chillies. I'll have to ask a neighbour if they want them.

I worked on a blocking section of self seeded wattles and eucalypts that were damaged in wild winds recently. A few trees had fallen on a raised garden bed in front of the house and I had helper Shawn working there Tuesday. I currently have piles of branches and tree stump sections waiting to move to a burn pile down the paddock, but there was still a lot of cleaning up to be done where they fell.

Yesterday I brushcut long grass that had grown behind the retaining wall, and cleared it away. Then I drowned the area with a mix of Roundup and Brushoff. There was an outbreak of blackberry behind there which got particular attention as I’m hot of keeping it out of here.

Neighbour Joe had run a hot wire through the mess attached to a solar energiser so he could run his cows in an extra area but wires were hitting branches and long grass and shorting out, useless in other words! I took the opportunity of cutting away anything that was going to come close to contacting and put a couple of extra pickets in to keep the wire up, making home made insulators as all mine went when the shed burned. Not worth buying a packet of 20 when you only need 2. I still have one small tree falling over which might impact the wire in the future, which I'll cut out today. Then it's all got to be moved down the paddock for burning later, after being cut up first.

Since I stopped taking CBD I’ve been having trouble with PTSD again. It’s not good and I have to do something about it. Tried to get an emergency appt with my GP but like all doctors here there is a long wait, but I need to go on anti-depressants again. In the meantime I started meditating again yesteray. I use meditation techniques every day but need a deeper longer meditaion that I haven’t had to do for years. I’ve forgotten a lot of the techniques and they will have to be relearned. Managed about 20 minutes yesterday.

I’m not pleased with how little Goodwill pays out to it!’s supposed charity outreach, and the CEO makes a shit ton in salary a year, but a stylish Armani jacket for $15 is hard to pass up, and my moral outrage really crumbles hard when I find something like that. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sounds like the guy who ran the charity shop in town my missus worked at as a volunteer, She said he was asked a few times by some people which charity he supported but never gave them a direct answer, Likewise I got my fair share of first dibs on good t-shirts etc though.

Same here. I've had enough unpleasant experiences with Goodwill to say that I am no fan of theirs either. Glad to have a Habitat for Humanity store in the neighborhood now.

I was on window cleaning duties yesterday inside & out & was completely knackered after that.
I checked out the new features in that TSW5 too & they've upgraded the photo mode, you can stop the game at any point & choose any angle. Weather, turn it to day or night & best of all Motion Blur mode, It's superb. All I have to do now is find out where the heck they're stored the photos on the PC I can't find the buggers.

Mixed up some poison and sprayed some blackberry outbreaks for a while yesterday.

Later we watched the AFL (Aussie Rules) preliminary final and it was a thriller right up until the last few seconds. One bloke dislocated his shoulder, came off to have it popped back in and went on playing, did it a second time and finally retired from the game. Some courage there!

It looks like a perfect day to mow the “lawns”. Plans for our impending trip to Hervey Bay are taking shape with a commitment from SIL Anthony to include a lot of fishing. Can’t wait!

I was on laundry duties again yesterday for most of the day, I don't know where all this laundry comes from, it certainly isn't me as I slob about in the same clothes for most of the week

It's shopping day and as it's chucking it down I'll do it online.

We've pretty much given up on getting final lease approval fast enough to avoid spending another month where we are. The plan for this week is to confirm that with the property manager here, settle up our rent due for September, and give 30 day notice for moving out the last week of October.

Steve needs to get back on the road again and I need to get my trip back to Wisconsin planned and made. I plan to depart later this week or over the weekend and return around October 20. I won't be able to be on here as much as usual so you two keep the rowdies in line OK? LOL

I forgot about it being the annual trip to the vets for the cat's inoculation jabs & claws cut yesterday afternoon, what a performance getting them in their cat baskets.

I finally got all three in their baskets after chasing them around for 20 minutes then taking them out to the car one cat (Simon) the biggest struggled so much he burst the metal grill off the basket & buggered off in the garden, too late to try & catch him again so we ended up with two out of three cats at the vets.

I'm going to have to strengthen that grill before I use that basket again, In a way I'm just glad it happened in our driveway & not on the busy main road at the vets.

I played “Whack a Mole” with a couple of Cormorants that had their eyes on my fish yesterday! Cheeky buggers wouldn’t fly away even when I was almost under the tree they were in! I started back to get my .410 shotgun but loud noises were coming from under the Polaris! I looked a couple of times and couldn’t see anything and before I headed back down I found some high tensile fencing wire wrapped around a front axe, so headed up to the shed for some bolt cutters. Slack buggers that replaced the fencing left lengths of wire everywhere and I’ve encountered it before!

My 18” bolt cutters had a hard time getting through the very tough wire and I may need an upgrade. Got it off however and headed back down to move the birds along. One was sitting on a dead branch so I took a shot at him but the sights on my cheap Russian shotgun are hopless and I missed. My 12 gauge would have done it with the spread of shot. That's something else that may need upgrading! However instead of flying around they headed away, so at least I got rid of them! They will be back today unfortunately.

I continued down the back of my treeline to a big tree that fell down in the storms and proceeded to cut sections of that off to test it’s burning qualities before I start cutting it all up. Unfortunately I encountered Scotch Thistles on the track and ended up spraying dozens of them. A lot were through the neighbours fence so I reached in and sprayed them also. The rear property has a section of them about to seed, some quite large but I can’t go over there to spray them and seed will spread to our place if they are left go. Hmmmmm?
Unfortunately that took a lot of time and it was lunchtime so I grabbed a quick load of dry wood and took over to the house as the forecasts don’t look great.

I have a mechanic coming to carry out the first (50 hour) service on the Polaris this morning so I will spend the time with him I guess. I can clean and service some chain saws and play with fishing gear for next week.
