I don't have any guitars that aren't nice, so I'd have to say that in this case "nicest" would refer to the most expensive one. I have about 36 guitars.
Among my Les Pauls, my most expensive is a Gibson LP Traditional. That beautiful Gibson LP Traditional is lead-weight wall art.
But I like...
Congrats to you 3Bolt79. May you enjoy it in great health!
One does have to wonder... Epiphone Les Paul Modern with ebony fretboard, locking Grover tuners, GraphTech nut and build-quality finish-quality as good as Epiphone gets has MSRP of $699 and with easy-to-get 10% discount, sells for...
You did good! Those are really awesome guitars. Light weight, well balanced, ebony fretboard, locking Grovers, GraphTech nut, asymmetric neck carve. What great specs, build quality, and finish. Mod it to your pleasure! I did just that with my two LP Moderns Pelham Blue and Sparkling...
Buy the pots and switch you want and just wire it up yourself. Inexpensive and parts selected to your specifications. Good project! Make a harness template with a small cardboard box to hold the pots in the correct orientation while you wire them up.
There is a lot of childish, school-yard behavior on this forum. Some folks here really need to grow up.
As for Epiphones which "make the grade", the LP Moderns sure do! Impeccable build quality, ebony fretboard, locking Grover tuners, GraphTech nut.. and selling for $630 with an easy-to-get...
Awesome guitar you got, my friend! They are so impressive and well-made. Light weight, well-balanced, locking Grover tuners, and, EBONY fretboard, too! Just stellar guitars.
I was so impressed with my Pelham Blue LP Modern that I bought another one, in Sparkling Burgundy.
I did totally...
A5s will give you a little bit more output and more noticeable high-end "sparkle". I like that for the neck position!
The bridge position doesn't need A5, as the string tone captured at that position is harsh and bright to begin with.
What I did to my ES-339. But most definitely not "today".
A pair of Cavalier Firebird pickups, 490k volume pots, 490k No-Load tone pots, .015uF orange drop caps.
The tones are glorious!

Just the opposite of you... I am hurting for butterscotch, but have an abundance of deep, wine reds! Funny.
Since you seem to really like reds, I will say that my favorite Fender red is not the Candy Apple Red, you have been spotting. That's a bit light and lacking the deep, rich metallic...
Darkness... I figured that you, if anyone, would want to be the first to hear the news! :naughty:
"The Red One" as you have named it (Candy Apple Red, to be exact), which you have been closely following in my photos, has received a Fender USA Special Run Ebony fretboard neck, with locking...
Try this…. Shop for a Fender MIM or USA Tele body on eBay… favorite color and all. Then, shop for a Fender MIM or USA neck on eBay. Rosewood, maple, Pau Ferro… whatever you like. They will go together like bread and butter.
Then choose your pickups, pick guard to accommodate, your electronics...
Thank you. Yes, it is a bit of an embarrassment of guitars, as there are so many and all so nice. Happened gradually, over a decade, bit by bit. And the cameras are great. I’m a retired commercial photographer.
For decades, as a guitarist, I wouldn’t even LOOK at a Tele. Just no inter est in...
Well... "the red one" is a close second. I keep 9s on the red one, for that unique feel/sound. And the blue one gets 10.5s, which I tend to prefer most of the time.
Still love my Lesters. The Epiphone LP Moderns even more than the Gibson Traditional! Weight has a lot to do with that: <8 lbs...
My preferred Tele is one where I've purchased a body that I love and, separately, a neck that I love - then built it up with my preferred pickups and electronics. In the end, I've made numerous Fender Teles that suit my preferences to a "T". (The necks and bodies have all been Fender-brand...
Surprising... but may be not? I am enjoying playing this Tele HH more than my recently acquired Les Pauls, nice as they truly are.
It's all about the body form and size, the weight, the perfect balance on the lap, and the Fender American Tele rosewood neck is such a great one. And... the...
