I've never seen this kind of tuners on an Epiphone Explorer. The hardware (bridge, tuners) doesn't seem to be original. It could have been replaced, though.
Given the pic's angle, it is hard to assess the headstock's shape.
I think Epiphone's pickguard usually is three-ply. Not sure here (hard to see).
