Here is a better shot where you can see the wood a bit better. Just got it back from being set up and new strings put on.

IMG_1366.JPG So did a little work to the Epi. New Seymour Duncan hot rodded humbucker set, 50's wiring (Gavitt push back cloth covered wiring) , CTS potts, Switchcraft jack and selector switch. It sounded pretty good with the stock wiring and probuckers, but Its like a whole new guitar. Tone wise, I'd put it up against any of my "real " Les Paul's.

IMG_1399.JPG Picked this one up a couple days after the LP. Came with a molded SBK TSA case. Literally bought it for less than it would cost to buy the case new. Pulled the hotrodded humbucker set from the LP and installed a set of pearly gates and slapped these in the G400. Put a set of hipshot locking tuners since they're lighter than the grovers and stopped neck dive. New 50's wiring, Gavitt pushback wires, CTS Pots, switchcraft selector and input,PIO caps.

I finally got my first Les Paul and it's a used 2008 Epiphone Les Paul Standard Cherry burst. I got it from the original owner and it doesn't appear to have been played much at all.
So happy to finally have a Les Paul and this is a great guitar as far as I can tell.

Thanks for the warm welcome.. I may have misspoke saying "this is a great guitar as far as I can tell.". It's really an awesome guitar. I've been playing guitar quite awhile and never tried a LP. I had no Idea what I was missing. I haven't had this much fun playing for awhile.

Haha.. Nope that's me. that's my friends LP. Pretty much the first LP I tried out. after that I started obsessing about it until I finally got my own last weekend.
My friend is to blame for getting me hooked on LPs. He is actually building a AXL LP for me and loaned me his Ultra III until it was done. But I found this standard so I should have a couple before long.
Never thought I'd be a Les Paul player ever.

Tomato soup, that's funny. Really is tomato soup color though ! Cool unusual color there.
You seem to favor red guitars.
