I noticed that the epiphone logo is at quite a steep angle and it also looks far too close to the top of the headstock,are either of these signs of a fake?
I'm sure you have answered this countless times before so apologies in advance but can I ask what are the first things you look for when trying to determine if an epi is a fake?

- Serial# big fat EE (google search or search on my PC)
- tuners / (huge) washers
- binding headstock/neck and body (too wide)
- Epiphone Logo placement on the headstock
- studs from the TP (rounded or flat)
- Pickguard screw (in line with two knobs)
- routing of the control-cavity
- Knob alignment
- Bodyshape
- the fact that some Epi Customs (VS & HC) had not been made later than 2008 (some fakes have newer serial#)
this is for newer chinese made Epis only
the older, mostly korean Epis are just too different
it seems the fakers had those korean Epis as their templates

I can't find any evidence online that this guitar was available in this color. Still waiting on a serial number from the buyer. They are selling it for $300 CAD. Any thoughts if its a fake or not?

If the pics in post #1 of this thread are correct, the truss rod cover on your prospective purchase matches the fake truss rod cover pic in post #1. I don't know if that is absolute proof of anything. It otherwise looks like a nice guitar.

the bad thing is, Gibson/Epi legal department seems to not care anymore when reporting those fakes here
