I've had those Silvertone amps too, I actually like how they sound, even the funky reverb. They were made by Danelectro and are wayyyyy overpriced nowadays, they were fun when they were $150.00 though.
I have old one's, lots of them. The new ones are excellent guitars, very well built in iirc the old Gibson building in Kalamazoo, they are modern guitars with old shapes though, and none of the funk of the old ones.

The serial could've been a sticker on the back of the headstock that fell off. The label inside looks blacked out. Looks like a great old Sherry, enjoy it.
