I haven't noticed a dip. In fact to my eyes and ears my Chinese epis seem a cut above Indonesians. I don't buy into the emotional and political crap. A good guitar is a good guitar.

A little late, but I use 11's exclusively on my 339. I keep a very low action though. I also replaced the stock pickups as I found the Classic Pros a little muddy.
I have an Epi J45. While it's true they aren't a loud instrument, they definitely are more balanced than any Martin I've ever owned. They are all solid wood as well, and of course very inexpensive.
Picked one up recently. They are incredible guitars. I am replacing the pickups to Gibson Classic 57's though as I play mostly jazz. But even with the classic pros they aren't all that bad.
