Beautiful place Paul, Blimey! he's a big ol boy.
Estes Park is a neat mountain town albeit more touristy these days than I like. It's the east gateway to the park and of course many drive up there just to see the elk heard. The elk were there long before the town so as far they're concerned it was "go ahead, built your town but we ain't movin".

They are very large critters and willing to sociably share "their space". The bulls can get pretty feisty during mating season and the cows when protecting their calves but as long as people just let them roam around as they're accustomed to doing they're pretty docile beasts.

EDIT; Estes Park is also the location of the Stanley Hotel which as used as the site for the hotel in the movie The Shining. The outdoor scenes were filmed at another location in Oregon but the indoor scenes were filmed in the Stanley which has a reputation for being very haunted.

Ghostly image captured on a stairway. One of many sightings. But then I can imagine there are many even older places in England that have their own reputation for being haunted.

Gonna be pretty much in the 80°s during the day all week long with 50°s for overnight lows. Lot's of sunshine and low humidity. Fall is always my favorite time of year. It usually stays warm, sunny, and dry all the way through October

Running around 90 F here still with humidity about the same 90% during the day. But less oppressive than it was.

Tropical Storm Helene may wind up into a very fast forming hurricane within 24 hours. It will track at least 60 miles away from me in the latest estimates, so we'll just get a lot of wind and heavy tropical rain. Some areas in the path will be hit hard if it spins up as expected but it's still unknown.

Another miserable dreary day of rain set in for the whole day, with a high of 13C.

It's like mid-summer here. High of 93° with only 18% RH. Still cool at night though with temps in the mid 50°s. No rain in sight either. We seem to have hit our annual Indian Summer phase.

It’s a beautiful clear morning, looking pretty out towards the dam with ducks playing down there.

It’s currently just 3C but we are heading for 16 today.

It’s a public holiday today because we have the AFL Grand Final on tomorrow. Don’t ask me, as I don’t understand it either.
