New player with Epiphone Les Paul Special II
welcome to the forum.. the dead fret issue is most likely that the 14th fret is a just a little too tall, a fret dress should take care of that. maby it could be a neck relief problem but i dont think so, since you say its ONLY at 13th fret you get a dead note. by holding the low E string down...- PeterOeh

The reason i started look into the Peterson Strobe Tuner App was i saw a Rig Rundown with metallica, and both kirk's & James guitar techs uses that app (on a taplet). it was kirks tech who was showing it i believe, and he was saying it was one of, if not the best and most precis tuning app out... -

i guess i should have worded it differend. its not as easy to replacing the neck on a set-neck as on a bolt-on. especially for people living in a apartment with no room for a workshop etc. (not everybody live in a house with a workshop full of tools). a bolt-on neck is a really easy fix anyone...- PeterOeh
